The Clemson Tigers have surged forward on the recruiting trail in recent weeks, especially in the 2026 class. A run of official visits in late May and early June has helped the Tigers land several important commitments on both sides of the ball — while a few high-profile targets are trending elsewhere.

Clemson Tigers Key Commits Since Early May

Clemson’s 2026 class now has 17 verbal pledges, including multiple blue-chip additions from recent visits:

  • Kentavion Anderson
    • Four-star safety from Roebuck, SC committed on May 15 after a spring visit. Previously leaned toward South Carolina.
  • Leo Delaney
    • Four-star OL from North Carolina committed on June 4. He’s the Tigers’ highest-ranked 2026 pledge so far.
  • Carter Scruggs
    • Four-star interior OL from Virginia ed on June 5, picking Clemson over Georgia and Michigan.
  • J.R. “Jay” Hardrick
    • Three-star DE from Tennessee also committed June 5. Canceled visits to GT and Louisville after visiting Clemson.

The Tigers also kicked off their 2027 class with a family connection: four-star linebacker Max Brown committed on June 2. He’s the younger brother of current Clemson standout Sammy Brown. Max chose the Tigers over Ohio State and Auburn.

Clemson Major Visit Weekend: May 30–June 1

Clemson rolled out the red carpet for several top prospects to close out May. Among the visitors were:

  • Tyler Atkinson
    • Five-star LB and top-10 national prospect. Clemson was his first official visit. Georgia leads, but the Tigers are in the mix.
  • Bryce Perry-Wright
    • Five-star DL from Georgia. Impressed by the visit but has several officials left.
  • Joey O’Brien
    • Highly regarded safety who’s emerged as a Clemson priority.
  • Devin Fitzgerald
    • Three-star WR and son of Larry Fitzgerald. Took a second visit and announces July 5.

This weekend also brought some swings and misses. Five-star WR Cederian Morgan canceled his Clemson visit to go to Georgia instead. That shift likely ends Clemson’s pursuit.

Cancelled Visits Raise Questions for Clemson

Earlier in May, Clemson lost traction with a few top offensive targets. On May 25, both Craig Dandridge (WR) and Carsyn Baker (RB) canceled scheduled officials. Dandridge will likely land at Georgia, while Baker’s decision was unexpected — Clemson hasn’t filled its RB spot yet for 2026.

Regardless, the Tigers remain in the top-10 classes for 2026 with 12 4-star recruits already committed.

Clemson Recruiting Update: Final Thoughts

Clemson’s class of 2026 is quietly becoming one of the most solid in the ACC. With 17 commits and several key targets still on the board, Dabo Swinney’s staff has created serious momentum.

The program’s ability to land early commits before they take other visits — as with Delaney and Scruggs — shows the impact of Clemson’s June official weekends. That said, the Tigers still have work to do at wide receiver and running back, where recent signs point toward other schools gaining ground.
