Based on reports and rumors, we are in for an NBA offseason full of player movement. There are talks of high profile, star players that could be finding new homes this summer, including more than one former league MVP.

Stephen A Smith Picks New NBA Homes For Giannis & Durant

Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant are reportedly being shopped by their respective teams, and ESPN’s Stephen A Smith has some predictions as to where they might end up.

During the taping of First Take on Monday, Smith used his “Stephen’s A-List” segment to talk about both Giannis and Durant. He revealed top-5 lists for potential landing spots for both players, which were revealed in reverse order.

Unsurprisingly, he had the team that he roots for in the number one spot on both countdowns.

The New York Knicks had their best season in 25 years in 2024-25, but came up short by showing some of their deficiencies in the Eastern Conference Finals. There is speculation that they’ll look to retool this summer, possibly by bringing in a big name to go along with Jalen Brunson and the rest of the roster.

Smith points to both Durant and Antetokounmpo as possible fixes, though he gives the latter more of a realistic shot.

Knicks, Rockets Atop Both Lists

The second team on both lists is the same, as well. The Houston Rockets exceeded expectations this past season and took Steph Curry and the Warriors to seven games in the first round of the postseason. They have one of the youngest cores in the NBA, and are looking for one final piece to help them get over the hump and become a legit contender in the West.

They have both a need for a legit star player and the young assets to get a potential trade done, making the Rockets a possible destination for both players.

Smith closes out the list on Kevin Durant by naming the Timberwolves, Pistons, and Heat. The remaining teams on Antetokounmpo’s side were the Mavericks, Heat, and Celtics.

When it comes to the betting odds, Giannis is still likely to remain in Milwaukee. The Bucks carry a designation of -250 to keep the 30-year-old on their roster, while the San Antonio Spurs sit at +1000.
