Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is red-hot. Recruiting momentum seems to only be growing under Mike Elko. By late May, the Aggies already had 11 four-star commits. That number’s now up to 14 — 13 of them are four-stars. They’re top-10 nationally and still trending up.

Recent Commits Lock In

June brought a wave of confirmations from A&M’s early pledges.

  • TE Caleb Tafua (4⭐): Visited June 5, shut it down after. Had 28 offers.
  • WR Aaron Gregory (4⭐): Said he’s “done” with visits after College Station.
  • RB Jonathan Hatton (4⭐): Same deal — visit confirmed his decision.

All three recruits had been targeted by other Power 5s. The College Station visits sealed things.

Chance Collins Commits to Aggies

On June 11, four-star safety Chance Collins committed to A&M. The 6′2″, 195-pound DB from Mansfield, TX had offers from Texas Tech, Utah, and West Virginia. He was set to visit A&M officially on June 20 but pulled the trigger early.

What Chance Collins’ Commitment Means

  • Top-50 Texas recruit
  • Commit No. 14 in the 2026 class
  • 13 of 14 commits now rated four-stars

His early commitment is a sign of A&M’s strong recruiting grip on in-state talent.

Texas A&M June 13 Visits Could Shape the Class

This Friday is key. The Aggies are hosting three high-end targets, all national names:

  • Jireh Edwards (5⭐ S, MD): No. 2 safety in 2026. Picks July 5. A&M in final 6.
  • Richard Wesley (5⭐ EDGE): Former Oregon commit. A&M visit part of restart.
  • Lamar Brown (5⭐ DL): No. 1 DL in the class. LSU lean but visiting A&M.

All three are elite. If A&M flips even one, they move from top-10 to top-5 territory.

Aggies Holding Strong

There have been no 2026 decommitments since spring. That’s rare, especially with early commitments stacking up. Elko and staff have kept the class intact while still pushing for more.

They’re also benefitting from instability elsewhere — especially Oregon. Wesley’s decommitment opens a door, and A&M has positioned itself to capitalize.

What’s Next for A&M?

  • June 13: Big visitor weekend with three 5-stars.
  • July 5: Jireh Edwards decision.
  • July 10: Lamar Brown decision.

Expect 1–2 more commits by mid-July if these visits go well.

Texas A&M is targeting difference-makers. If they land a headliner like Brown or Edwards, they’ll be pushing for a top-5 class by fall. The Elko era is just getting started.
