Tom Brady knows first hand what Mike Vrabel brings to the table.

The two were teammates for eight years (2001-2008), with Brady and Vrabel leading the New England Patriots to three Super Bowls and an undefeated regular season. The two Patriots greats are now retired, but the 50-year-old Vrabel will lead New England as their new head coach entering the 2025 season.

“Mike’s a great coach, and the Patriots have a great leader for that organization,” Brady told SportsCasting in an exclusive interview. “I know he’s going to do a great job. I know he’s all about tough, disciplined, hard-nosed physical brand of football. He’s a terrific coach and a great friend of mine still.”

While Brady and Vrabel were used to winning with the Patriots, that hasn’t been the case for the franchise in recent years. From 2001 until 2019 — Brady’s last year in New England — the Patriots never had a losing season, won six Super Bowls, went to nine total Super Bowls and missed the playoffs only twice.

Since Brady’s departure after the 2019 season, the Patriots have been to the playoffs just once and haven’t even won a playoff game.

Brady: Vrabel Has ‘No BS’ Personality

Vrabel, who has a proven track record of success as the Tennessee Titans head coach, will be tasked with turning the franchise around with a new core, including second-year quarterback Drake Maye.

“He’s got this no-bullshit mentality about him and I love that,” says Brady. “That’s why I think he and I have always connected. It’s this mentality that we’re not making excuses, we’re going to go out there and get the job done, and we’re not going to complain. We’re going to work hard and we’re going to be resilient, and that’s how you get things done.”

Vrabel himself was one of the better linebackers in the league during his 13-year playing career. Outside of being a key lynchpin of the early Patriots dynasty, he was a Pro Bowler and a First-Team All-Pro during New England’s undefeated regular season in 2007.

Brady, who obviously went through many tough battles with Vrabel as his teammate, again preaches what he loves most about Vrabel — the no-nonsense attitude.

“When you’re in tough competition, you’re not going to make excuses, you’re going to go out there and give it your best every day,” says Brady of Vrabel. “I love that mentality. I’ve had that mentality for a long time. We all need that mentality: no excuses, no complaints, go out there and get it done, have great communication. If you fail, then get your ass back up and go try again and learn from it, and develop resilience and self-confidence and be better the next time. You just keep trying until you succeed.”

When asked if Vrabel will immediately win over that locker room, Brady says he’s confident in his former teammate and calls the Patriots a “great organization.” However, Vrabel obviously will still have to “earn it” as he enters his first year.

“We’ll see,” says Brady on if Vrabel will win over the locker room in New England. “I wouldn’t doubt Mike or that organization — that’s a great organization. I don’t like making predictions. Everyone’s got a chance to go earn it.”

Tom Brady Releasing New Food Product ‘GOAT Gummies’ Through Gopuff

While Vrabel is continuing his head coaching career, Brady continues to make an impact in the entrepreneurial world. The 47-year-old is releasing his first food product line through the insta commerce platform, Gopuff.

Brady has been involved with the food delivery company — they can deliver products in as fast as 15 minutes — over the past four years and has been an investor.

Brady is releasing “GOAT Gummies,” an organic vegan snack that has no artificial sweeteners or flavors and is made with real fruit.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion details the impetus that led to the creation of “GOAT Gummies” and details that this is the first of more products that he’ll release through Gopuff.

He says that he was hands-on for the creation of “GOAT Gummies” from the start.

“There’s no artificial sweetener,” says Brady. “They’re amazing. No artificial dyes, no artificial flavors. There’s no crap in it. It’s organic, it’s vegan, it’s real. I was hands-on from the start, and I’m conscious about what I put in my body, and I know other people are as well. Let’s find some things where you don’t sacrifice taste, but they’re better for you than what’s currently out there.”
