The heavyweight bout, which will take place at Wembley Stadium on 21 September, is set to sur the previous record of 94,000 who attended Tyson Fury’s knockout victory of Dillian Whyte in 2022.

Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh successfully petitioned London Mayor Sadiq Khan to increase the attendance at the iconic venue, ensuring that the Joshua-Dubois bout will be witnessed by a record-breaking crowd.

The increased attendance of 96,000 will not only break the British boxing attendance record but also sur the post-war record set by the Fury-Whyte fight.

The Met Police previously reported that policing the event cost organisers a significant sum, but the immense financial resources of Alalshikh and his commitment to revitalising boxing as a mainstream sport ensure that the financial implications can be comfortably handled.

In addition to the record-breaking attendance, Alalshikh aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere at the event. Plans include dedicated play areas and performances, making it a memorable experience for all ages.

Liam Gallagher, who recently announced an Oasis reunion with his brother Noel, is also scheduled to perform at Wembley next month, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.
