‘You Traitor’ Blast Blackburn Fans As John Eustace Departs For Derby County 2s3m12

Blackburn fans have turned to social media to let their feelings known after John Eustace quit to take the managerial role at Derby County.
The move has caused quite a stir in the EFL owing to Rovers strong league position. Especially as County are flirting with relegation and Premier League football is a possibility for the Blue and Whites.
After their victory over West Brom on Wednesday, the Lancashire side are currently in 5th spot. The Rams drew 0-0 with Oxford 24 hours before that and are perched in 21st.
Unsurprisingly, Eustace wasn’t in the dugout at the Hawthorns as a brace from Makhtar Gueye secured a fine 2-0 win. The 45-year-old leaves Ewood Park on bad .
Some will feel that Eustace wasn’t backed sufficiently by the owners. That despite six new arrivals coming through the door in January.
Reports also indicate that Eustace feels Derby is a better long-term project. Also, his family currently reside in the Midlands so that in itself would have been a reason to take over at Pride Park.
Derby County are delighted to announce the appointment of John Eustace as Head Coach.
The Rams' former midfielder has signed a contract which will run until the summer of 2028 and takes up his position with immediate effect. 🐏

Naturally, the Blackburn faithful weren’t at all happy about John Eustace’s departure. ers could be heard chanting during the West Brom game: “Are you watching John Eustace?”
The 45-year-old had enjoyed a stellar campaign so far in the EFL Championship in 2024/25. In his 364 days in charge at Ewood Park, Eustace oversaw 52 games which produced 18 wins, 15 draws and 19 defeats.
Derby paid the £500k compensation package on Sunday night to begin talks with the club. Once that happened, Rovers fans knew there was only one likely outcome.
Once Eustace’s appointment was confirmed on Thursday, many turned to X (formerly Twitter) to vent their frustrations at the news of his departure.
“Up yours John. You traitor,” blasted one fan in reply to the club’s official statement of Eustace’s exit. Many others shared similar views.
“Goodbye snake Eustace,” another added. Others simply stated that the truth will never be revealed in regards to the apparent fall out with the board.
Up yours John.

John should be ashamed of himself, we gave him a chance to shine and he’s turned around and left us when we needed him the most. Sadly loyalty is hard to find in the modern game and I hope the club can find someone who will finally lead us back to the premier league.

Goodbye snake Eustace 👋🏼 last night we finally saw the togetherness he preached about after every loss. Ironic it just took him shafting the players for it to happen.
Last nights performance showed that no manager is bigger than the team. David Lowe's blue and white army! pic.twitter.com/Yfi3rqbsdx
