Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will face Terence Crawford in his next fight on 13 September in Las Vegas.

The Mexican hero will face undefeated American Crawford for the undisputed super-middleweight title.

Already billed ‘the fight of the century’, Canelo Vs Crawford will be streamed on Netflix to a huge global audience.

For the first time, the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority will be promoting the fight.

Led by Chairman His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, the Authority is working in collaboration with UFC president Dana White.

Canelo Next Fight Will Be ‘Once In A Lifetime’ z292e

When news broke of Canelo’s next fight, the excitement was palpable.

And nobody encapsulated that excitement more than Dana White.

The UFC president said: “Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley.

“Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo versus Crawford? It’s literally a once-in-a-lifetime fight.”

Super-middleweight champion ‘Canelo’ Alvarez beat 34-year-old William Scull last month to unify all four titles in the division.

The win earned him the IBF belt, and the undisputed title.

On Tuesday, Canelo said: “I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

Terence Crawford Record A Match For Canelo 5j6h43

Canelo is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet.

With 63 wins from 67 professional bouts, he has backed up his chat for years.

But if anyone can match him, it’s Terence Crawford. The American is an undisputed champion across four divisions and two weight categories.

He is moving up from light-middleweight, having never lost a professional fight.

The 37-year-old has 41 wins and zero defeats in his career to date.

Discussing the prospect of facing Canelo, Crawford was bullish about his chances.

He said: “My perfect record speaks for itself.

“I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top.”

Canelo Vs Crawford is expected to be held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Prior to the fight, a media tour will see the pair visit Riyadh in Saudi Arabia before events in New York and Vegas.

Canelo Alvarez Stats u654

As mentioned, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is a top-level fighter.

His 63 wins from 67 fights gives him a 94 per cent winning record.

Standing at just over 5ft 7in, he is marginally shorter than the 5ft 8in Terence Crawford.

Canelo also gives up several inches in reach to his next opponent.

The Mexican has a reach of 70 and a half inches, while Crawford’s is measured at 74 in.

There will also be an interesting dynamic due to Canelo’s orthodox stance meeting a southpaw in Crawford.

But with both fighters boasting incredible records, something will have to give.
