Tottenham head to Budapest to take on Hungarian champions Ferencvaros in their second Europa League game of the campaign, and we’ve got the latest team news and predicted lineups ahead of the action.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham head into continental action off the back of four successive victories in all competitions, and they’ll be looking to extend that record to five when they take on Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena on Thursday.

Spurs come into the Europa League gameweek occupying fourth place in the league phase table, having comfortably dispatched Azerbaijani outfit Qarabag 3-0 in their opener despite going down to 10-men early on.

They have since followed that up with another 3-0 win, this time in the Premier League against Manchester United, thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke.

In-form Johnson, Tottenham’s top scorer across all competitions this term, has scored in each of his last four appearances for the Lillywhites, while Solanke has also scored in each of his last three.


Ferencvaros, meanwhile, achieved league phase qualification for this season’s Europa League after beating Bosnian side Borac Banja Luka on penalties in the play-off round.

Domestically, they have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2024/25 campaign, winning all six of their Hungarian top-flight fixtures thus far. They fell to a narrow defeat in their league phase opener last week however, as they were beaten 2-1 by a 10-man Anderlecht in Brussels.

This should mean returns to the starting XI for Endre Botka, Gabor Szalai, Cristian Ramirez, Philippe Rommens, Kady Borges and Kristoffer Zachariassen, who all started against Anderlecht.

As for Spurs, they remain without injured attacking pair Richarlison (muscle) and Wilson Odobert (hamstring), while Radu Dragusin is suspended following his straight red card against Qarabag last week.

Heung-min Son, who missed the clash against Manchester United at the weekend due to a hamstring issue, and Destiny Udogie (thigh) are doubts and may not be risked by Postecoglou.

With Udogie potentially out, Ben Davies could be called into the lineup in left-back, along with Archie Gray on the right. Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Lucas Bergvall will all be vying for starts in midfield, too.

Impressive youngsters Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear may also be in line for some minutes out in Budapest, with the former featuring off the bench in each of Tottenham’s last three matches.
