Low-Owned Chelsea Midfielder Included As FPL Banger Select Top Picks and Best Captain In Gameweek 28 Tips 1cy4d

The FPL Banger boys are back with their Fantasy Premier League tips for Gameweek 28, outlining their top picks and a best captain selection.
Welcome to a new series for the 2024/25 season, provided by Siva & Sam, the twisted minds behind the FPL Banger Podcast.
Our triple West Ham recommendation last week came through with returns for Areola, Wan-Bissaka and Bowen, even if he was robbed of a clear goal. Let’s see if we can keep it up in GW28.

BEST CAPTAIN 4x3t3d
Mo Salah (£13.8m) – Fixture: Southampton (H) 474q6o
Keeping it simple here. Southampton are bad. Very bad. One of the all-time worst teams in the Premier League bad. Meanwhile, Liverpool are quite decent, and fresh off a smash and grab 1-0 win at PSG, conceding 27 shots and scoring from their only shot on target.
Salah’s biggest contribution was coming off and allowing Harvey Elliott to score the winner within 40 seconds of the substitution. I’m backing Mo to take his anger out and statpad against Southampton. With the PSG return leg on Tuesday, he might come off early, but by then the game should already be won – and if the game is won, Salah is usually involved.

David Raya (£5.5m) – Fixture: Man United (A) 484b70
“People look at this competition as the only competition that can save our season. I don’t see it like that. Nothing can save our season.”
Every week, Ruben Amorim comes out and tells us that his team are rubbish. And you know what, I believe him. Forwards who can’t run, full backs who can’t attack and a goalkeeper who strikes fear into his defenders on a weekly basis. But for the sheer will and set piece abilities of Bruno Fernandes, this team would be in a relegation fight.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are pretty good at defending set pieces and are fresh off scoring seven goals against PSV. They should win this one comfortably, and that typically means a Raya clean sheet.
Daniel Munoz (£5m) – Fixture: Ipswich (H) 1b322v
Two seasons ago, Daniel Munoz was lighting up the Belgian league, scoring eight goals and five assists in the 22/23 season. Off the back of that season, the Colombian secured a move to Palace, and while it has taken him some time to get up to speed, he’s truly arrived in 2025. Three goals and three assists in his last seven games in all competitions, and that can only get better against an Ipswich side that hasn’t kept a clean sheet since GW4.
And if you’re worried that Munoz doesn’t play in GW29, well, don’t be. He plays Southampton in GW30. With a little luck, he’ll score two 15 pointers against Ipswich in GW28 and Soton in GW30, which you can average out to 10 points each week from now until GW30. Quick FPL maths. You’re welcome.
Christopher Nkunku (£5.7m) – Fixture: Leicester (H) 1q3ae
Nkunku finally returned last week against Southampton, in a performance so good that Enzo Maresca even gave him the midweek off, benching him in the Conference League against Copenhagen. If I had a spare midfielder slot, I would definitely be moving for Nkunku, especially when he’s up against a team whose form in their last 12 games reads like this: LLLLLLLWLLLL.
Yoane Wissa (£6.4m) – Fixture: Aston Villa (H) 4v3mz
After Chris Wood, Wissa has been my favourite player to own this season. He’s stepped up to the challenge since Ivan Toney’s early retirement, ranking only behind Salah, Haaland, Isak, Cunha and Wood for non-penalty goals. On the other hand, Villa have kept just three clean sheets all season, including one against Man United and one against Southampton, so we don’t count those. On top of that, Villa have failed to win in seven of the eight games that immediately followed their Champions League fixtures this season. All signs point to another Wissa return.
