Ipswich Town are set for their first Premier League campaign in over two decades. The Tractor Boys secured their place in England’s elite after finishing as Championship runners-up in 2023/24, and welcome Merseyside giants Liverpool to Portman Road in their opening fixture of the campaign.

Many will be backing the Suffolk-based side for an immediate return to the Championship. However, they have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Kieran McKenna.

The highly sought after manager turned down reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United to pen a new deal at Portman Road this summer.

Furthermore, Ipswich have broken their transfer record to sign Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea. The Jamaican international starred whilst on loan at the club last season.

Defender Ben Johnson has also ed the Tractor Boys. However, McKenna will need to sign plenty more players with top-flight experience to help stave off the threat of relegation.

Liverpool are the visitors to Portman Road on matchday 1 of the 2024/25 Premier League season. Their campaign will conclude with a home fixture against West Ham.
