Jack Catterall’s next fight sees the English boxing star aiming to get back to winning ways following defeat last time out to Arnold Barboza Jr.

‘El Gato’ firmly has his sights set on winning world titles in the super-lightweight division, but first must get back to winning ways against the undefeated Harlem Eubank on July 5th in a welterweight contest.

Jack Catterall Next Fight: ‘El Gato’ Faces Harlem Eubank On July 5th In Manchester 2x3p6e

Jack Catterall, who boasts a net worth of £1.5million, was last in action in February, where he came unstuck against Arnold Barboza Jr in their WBO Interim World Super-Lightweight Title fight.

The Chorley man lost a razor thin split decision in Manchester, in a fight that he was the favourite to win. Now, he aims to get back to winning ways in his next fight.

Jack Catterall’s record currently stands at 30-2, and he had the chance to improve that on July 5th. ‘El Gato’ is set for a move up to welterweight in his next fight, as he takes on fellow Brit Harlem Eubank.

The 31-year-old was so close to getting a full world title shot at 140-pounds before his defeat to Barboza last time out, but is now opting for a move up to 147-pounds with a huge domestic clash with Eubank.

Harlem, who is the cousin of Chris Eubank Jr and nephew to Chris Eubank Snr, is unbeaten and coming into this fight fresh off the back of a career-best victory over Tyrone McKenna.

This Catterall vs Eubank showdown is a huge fight, headlining a bumper Matchroom Boxing card promoted by Eddie Hearn at the Manchester Arena. Should the Chorley man secure the win this time, then his world title ambitions are still most definitely alive.

Should his next fight result in victory against one of the Eubank fighting family, then ‘El Gato’ is back on track to become world champion within the next 12 months.

Will Jack Catterall’s Next Fight After Harlem Eubank Be For A World Title? 3h5q29

Jack Catterall, who is married to wife Lauren and father of one, will almost certainly get another shot at world honours, provided he gets back to winning ways in his next fight against Harlem Eubank.

Ultimately ‘El Gato’ should have been undisputed world super-lightweight champion already, but he wasn’t given the rub of the green against Josh Taylor back in their first fight.

Should he bounce back from the Arnold Barboza Jr defeat with another impressive win against Eubank, Catterall simply cannot be denied a shot at world honours.

The only caveat is that this contest is of course up at welterweight. It remains to be seen whether Catterall continues to campaign up at 147-pounds, or if he moves back down to 140-pounds where he has fought his entire career.

If a world title presents itself at welterweight against one of the current belt holders, there would be no reason for ‘El Gato’ to move back down to super-lightweight. Similarly if a world title shot finally presented itself at 140-pounds, you can guarantee the Chorley man would take it too.

The Josh Taylor trilogy is always a fight that could get made, as is the Teofimo Lopez super-fight. Lopez, who’s next fight is yet to be confirmed, could well take on Catterall for his WBO World Super-Lightweight Title, but that can only happen if Catterall is victorious on July 5th.

If His Excellency Turki Alalshikh continues with his heavy involvement in boxing, ‘El Gato’ could be a name to feature on the Riyadh Season cards going forward.

Time will tell who Jack Catterall’s next fight is against after Harlem Eubank, which is a bout he simply must win first and foremost.
