In the summer of 2021, Man City paid a British record £100m to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. With the massive price tag weighing him down, Grealish had a mediocre debut season at the Etihad Stadium. However, he turned things around in the 2022/23 campaign as the Cityzens went on to win the Treble.
Grealish played 50 games across competitions, scoring 5 goals and claiming 11 assists. Beyond goals and assists, it was Grealish’s determination and hunger that won fans over.

However, in the last two seasons, all of it has gone for a toss. Between injuries and lacklustre showings, the 29-year-old has become an afterthought at star-studded Man City. He has only started 17 Premier League matches since the 2023/24 season. Last campaign, he only played 715 minutes of Premier League football.
Grealish is likely to be left out of Man City’s Club World Cup squad in June.
Since moving to the Etihad, Grealish has played 157 games for the club in all competitions. He has scored 17 goals and provided 23 assists, winning three Premier League titles and a Champions League, among other honours. The 2024/25 season, however, ended in disappointment for Grealish and Co. as Man City went trophyless for the first time since 2016/17.
