Ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made a sensational return to management on Saturday as he took charge of a testimonial at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park.

Just months after his emotional departure from Liverpool, Klopp was on the touchline once again in a celebration of two of his former players’ careers.

Polish duo Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski had a testimonial at Dortmund on Saturday and Klopp took charge of one of the teams.

The German manager coached the pair during his days in the Bundesliga, with both playing key roles under him. Piszczek and Blaszczykowski were instrumental in two title winning teams in 2011 and 2012.

They also helped Klopp’s side reach the Champions League final in 2013, where they lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Bayern Munich.

Klopp spoke on his return to the dugout, saying: “It’s a lifelong dream come true. I wanted to have that again. Just a few months ago, I was given an emotional farewell in Liverpool. Today it was very emotional again. Some people might say that today he’s like this and tomorrow he’ll be like that. I explain it like this: when you have three children, you love them all. And that’s the same with my three clubs. I love them all.

Following his exit from Anfield, Klopp itted he would be taking some time away from the game. However, there has already been plenty of speculation of where his next job will be.

Many thought he may be lined up for the England national team job, but Lee Carsley has impressed so far for the Three Lions.

The 57-year-old has also been linked with plenty of top-level jobs in his home nation, including the German national team. Julian Nagelsmann is the current boss, but Klopp could certainly be considered in the future.

Nobody knows when we will next see him back in full-time management. Although, the best football betting sites think he will manage next, priced at 2/9.
