In the United Kingdom turning 18 is one of the biggest milestones in a person’s life, largely down to being able to legally drink alcohol.
This milestone came for Luke Littler in January 2025, as the Nuke turned 18 just a matter of days after his triumphant World Championship victory.
Littler beat Michael van Gerwen in the final at Alexandra Palace, securing his first World Championship and this came months after winning the PDC Premier League in his debut season.
Since turning 18, players such as Nathan Aspinall have revealed that Littler is starting to interact with his fellow darts players and enjoying a drink at the hotel bars.
However, the Asp was not best pleased with the teenager’s drink of choice and revealed that the Nuke enjoys a Strongbow Dark Fruits.
One man that will not be enjoying a beer or cider with Littler is the Dutch darts legend, Michael van Gerwen, who labelled beer as ‘disgusting’.
Michael van Gerwen said (Via TalkSport): “He starts to loosen up a bit, but not in that way. I think he starts to talk a little bit more, he interacts a little bit more.
“He is a good kid with a lot of capability. But he didn’t have a pint of cider with me because I’ve never drunk a beer in my life. It’s disgusting.”
The Dutchman is sober and doesn’t partake in drinking, which is the same for another PDC Premier League player – Chris Dobey.
Speaking of the Premier League, Luke Littler is in a strong position to retain his title after winning four of the opening 10 nights so far.
The Nuke is currently top of the table, five points clear of Luke Humphries who takes up the second spot – however MvG is yet to taste nightly success this season.
Another issue for van Gerwen has been repeated injuries, as the three-time World Champion was forced to pull out before night eight.
