Newcastle United are plotting a sensational move for ex-Manchester City star Leroy Sane, who could be available on a free transfer next summer.

The German forward has just 10 months left on his deal at Bayern Munich, but the club are in talks with Sane over a contract extension.
However, it is believed that if the ex-Premier League man wants to remain in then he will have to take a pay cut.
With the 28-year-old’s future up in the air, Newcastle have emerged as one of the clubs to be interested in his signature. Arsenal and Liverpool are also monitoring the situation.
The Magpies were in the market for a new winger over the summer, and lodged a late £50m bid for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga on deadline day, which was rejected.
Sane is a player with plenty of Premier League experience behind him, having made 135 appearances for City during his time in England. He managed to score 39 goals, ing a further 43 assists and won two league titles and two FA Cups during the final year of his contract at the Etihad.
He has impressed during his time in the Bundesliga too, notching 48 goals and 50 assists in 175 games for Bayern. Sane signed for them in July 2020 for an initial £45m with £15m in add-ons. He also has 65 caps for , scoring 13 goals in the process and was in their recent Euro 2024 squad.

Another player who could be on his way out of the Bundesliga is Sane’s teammate Jamal Musiala. The Gunners are tracking his situation too, as well as Liverpool and Manchester United.
Musiala spent time in both Southampton and Chelsea’s youth setups, before moving to Bayern where he was later promoted to the senior team. The international is considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
