Thomas Frank Must Learn from Ange Postecoglou’s Mistakes at Spurs 541l5j
Australian coach Ange Postecoglou guided Tottenham Hotspur to the Europa League title in May. The triumph over Manchester United saw Spurs end their 17-year trophy drought. It was also their first European trophy in 41 years.
However, despite winning the Europa League and securing £15.7 million for UCL qualification, Postecoglou failed to keep his job. Tottenham took the drastic step after the team endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign in 2024/25.
Ange Postecoglou is more than a football coach.

Playing 38 games, the Lilywhites suffered 22 defeats, amassing a mere 38 points and finishing 17th in the league. Spurs probably would have kept Postecoglou on board if the team had at least finished in the top half of the table.
Thanks to Tottenham’s Europa League heroics, Thomas Frank will oversee a Champions League campaign in his debut season. Considering the quality of opponents in the UCL, Frank might be tempted to save some of his key players for European nights. But as the Tottenham board has shown, European success alone is not sufficient. They are equally invested in Premier League results.
